A BUDDHIST TEMPLE IN SAIGON

This was a fairly typical temple that we visited, with quiet courtyards, altars crowded with images of various buddhas and deities, insence, flowers, and fruit. Devout visitors light incense in prayer, you can also leave a donation. Many of the temples have vendors for the tourists; monks live their lives; beggars hang around in hopes of your pity; enterprising school children show you around in hopes of a tip.
